Introducing Chess Nomad

These casual meet-and-greets, held regularly on Sundays at 11 am, are an opportunity to connect with individuals and engage in meaningful conversations. We are excited to share our passion for chess and chess education with you.

If you have already reserved a seat for our "Teaching Chess Basics" course, we will send you our first teacher participation survey very soon.  This branching, multiple-choice survey will have a few broad questions to help us identify the best classroom locations across Metro Atlanta to increase course participation.  Those participants who complete this series of surveys will be eligible for complimentary teacher training this year.

About Warren White

I came to chess later in life as a leisure pursuit compared with many kids, parents, and chess teachers. That experience strongly shapes how I think about chess as a medium or tool for learning rather than a competitive game. But that aspect is valuable too, so I don't ignore it. I just try to channel that kind of thinking differently than traditionally done in after-school academies.

I see chess as an art form rather than a sport, so there are many ways and reasons I feel to introduce chess to adults, depending on where they are in life.  I have some big ideas, and I’m doing my best to grow this thoughtfully—without biting off more than I can chew.
