A short story about Angelene and Warren

The essence of chess is more than moves on a board. It's about community and inclusivity. I started my chess journey in 2009 in Georgia's Cobb County, and my vision was to create a vibrant chess community. I believe that true mastery of chess is about sharing its beauty with others and making a welcoming and engaging environment for everyone.

Common misconceptions often stop people from exploring chess. They think they are not smart enough or don't have the patience. I want to dispel these myths by showing how tailored teaching approaches can make chess accessible and enjoyable for everyone. I've seen the transformative power of chess firsthand and refined my teaching methods to ignite each learner's passion for the game.

Testimonials from our local community show the empowering impact of chess, which builds self-confidence, self-discipline, and resilience, which are essential for the chess journey. My approach goes beyond traditional teachings and aims to revolutionize the chess landscape, bridging gaps and nurturing a sense of belonging and growth.

Early Days

We were the ultimate learning destination for chess enthusiasts, offering a wealth of resources, a vibrant community, and a commitment to making chess accessible and enjoyable. Our chess clubs provided spaces where members could feel embraced, regardless of their skill level, and build genuine relationships beyond the chessboard.

Busy moms who sought balanced activities for their kids could access our unique mini-games approach to break learning into digestible pieces, fostering game skills and life lessons. It was more than a game; it's was a bond of friendship and a journey of self-discovery.

Our influencers were spreading the word about chess education in their local community, had a genuine love and enthusiasm for chess, and were active players and supporters of the game.

I grew the business by adding more services, scaling up operations, and improving marketing. I also figured out how to deal with the challenges of our niche industry. I built a strong brand, diversified our offerings, and streamlined operations to fight off the growing competition.

But things changed in the market, we had operational inefficiencies, and as competition got tougher, we became less relevant. We had to close down. I looked at exit strategies and tried to move into new markets, but I couldn't adapt fast enough.

For chess teachers, our SaaS platform offered a comprehensive solution that streamlined curriculum development, communication, assessment, tournament preparation, event organization and online presence management to provide a holistic and impactful learning experience.
